January 2025 – Great Bricett

The New Year witnessed eight pheasants seeing in January with a walk in deepest Suffolk under seasonally changeable weather and with a biting wind. As might be expected for the time of year, the route occasionally disappeared in a morass of mud, forcing several backtracks and alterations. Unsurprisingly, these changes had the pheasants grumbling at the navigator since the species is very resistant to change. Morale was boosted with the appearance of home cooked sausage rolls and rocky road slices, and as the weather improved disaster was only narrowly averted as two of the pheasants slipped at a small bridge, nearly ending up in a stream. Once finished and boots cleaned, it was a short ten minute drive to the nearest pub for well deserved nibbles.
