September 2023 – St Ives
September saw a leisurely route through St Ives on what turned out to be “car boot day” in the seriously upmarket neighbourhood. Starting with a posh celebratory breakfast to mark Adrian’s birthday, the pheasants resisted the temptation to buy snow boards or expensive children’s toys being flogged by the de-cluttering upper middle classes. At one stage the flock were viciously charged at by an angry squirrel but managed to survive the ordeal. They then tried to make friends with some cows, only for their overtures to be rebuffed as the cows were not in the mood and the pheasants scattered in some panic as per their usual behaviour.
