February 2024 – Lavenham
The flock descended on Lavenham on a bright and crisp day, with fine weather throughout. However, diluvial conditions from previous days meant that biblical levels of mud had to be contended with. A pop-up cafe half way around helped to assuage the onset of trench foot, lulling the pheasants for the harder part of the walk ahead. After finally conquering the conditions while avoiding vicious thorn bushes, the pluckers finished in time for the farmers’ market before retiring to a local pub.
