March 2025 – Barnack

A walk designed and led by Dave which took in the delights of Barnack and the surrounding countryside as the Pheasants returned to the Stamford area after a two year hiatus. The longest outing of the year to date, it cut through Burghley Park and its golf course. As before, sustenance was sourced in Stamford, this time at the Cornish Bakery where the Pheasants went mad on multiple baked goods and beverages. There was still time on the latter part of the walk for a navigational oopsie which left the team on the wrong side of a deep ditch, requiring all of them to scramble across unceremoniously. All that is except for one remarkable Pheasant, who launched himself with avian majesty across the gaping ravine, thus giving rise to the legend of Captain Creeky.
