October 2023 – Old Buckenham
The pheasants turned up for a waterlogged walk in October, casually taking in the sights at a languid pace which affected their overall speed. Having had good luck with the weather on the day, heavy rains on previous days presented the walkers with myriad challenges along the way but the pheasants were resourceful and hardy. A side trip to the local Motte and Bailey keep at New Buckenham provided a cultural interlude, having previously obtained the key from a small grocery shop. Two pubs were sampled after the walk, with sausage rolls tipping the balance in favour of the Ox & Plough.
