October 2024 – Sicklesmere
The delay in walks continued into November as Sicklesmere was revisited for the first time since February 2023. With the largest pheasant gathering of the year, eight pluckers tackled this walk in an anticlockwise direction which was to slightly fox the navigator in the early stages. The change in the direction had the bonus of allowing for breakfast within the first hour of the walk at the local park’s cafeteria. A further welcome and auspicious event occurred when the walkers were greeted by a large flight of actual pheasants towards the end of the route.
