August 2024 – Holkham
August’s walk actually took place in early September due to holiday commitments and saw the pheasants return to the much loved Holkham for the third time. In time honoured tradition, the flock took the opportunity to enjoy multiple gastronomic stops, with the culinary tour taking in bacon sandwiches, fish and chips, ice cream and nearly a Sunday lunch. After a refreshing walk along the serene beach and dunes at Holkham, the chaps arrived at the upmarket and picturesque Wells for liquid refreshment. A post lunch walk back to Holkham Hall was long but rewarded the walkers with a herd of deer and the Adnams shop at the end, allowing all to stock up on presents.
