June 2025 – Hargrave
This was a well attended local walk just up the road in Barrow. The day benefitted from a pre walk recce, which didn’t eliminate all errors but did result in the route being reversed to take in a farm shop for an early break. The sojourn allowed for snacks and drinks to be consumed while everyone watched bemused as Stu got chased by a vicious hover fly. There was a second opportunity for a refreshment stop, this time for ice pops in Barrow (thank you Andy). The longer than advertised walk finished in time for Sunday lunch in the Three Horseshoes, just as the day threatened to become unbearably hot.
