September 2025 – Thurston
September saw an enchanting walk undertaken in a glorious autumnal setting that started and finished in charming Pakenham. The day kicked off with chorizo sausage rolls lovingly prepared by Mario, which helped provide the day with a boost. Following a picturesque start the Pheasants soon encountered their time honoured nemesis in the form of cows and bulls at various locations along the route, causing Bellars undue stress. All meetings were however safely negotiated and the team were soon blissfully eating various wild nuts and berries as Adrian regaled all with tales of Thurston. A dodgy knee forced Creeky to take a short cut and rejoin the group further along the route. Not everyone was impressed by the pub at the end, which knowingly and unappologetically sold a sub-par porter to a couple of the thirsty walkers.
